The success of an organ donation and transplant program depends on good coordination by transplant coordinators. The Govt of India, in its 2009 gazette has made appointment of transplant coordinators mandatory before a hospital is registered as a Transplant Centre. This would mean that any one of the 300 transplant hospitals applying for renewal of its license would need to have trained coordinators.

To address the training needs of this cadre of health-care professionals, Zonal Coordination Committee of Karnataka in partnership with MOHAN (Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network) Foundation and “Gift Your Organ” is happy to announce the “Transplant Coordinators’ Training Program” – a 5-day intensive residential training programme, between 22nd and 26 August 2011 at Snehadaan, Sarjapura Road, Ambedkar Nagar, Carmelaram Post, Bangalore – 560035, Karnataka, India.

The program has been tailored to suit the requirement of candidates from both medical and non-medical background. This course will provide weightage to the basic qualification of the candidates by providing them an insight into this complex field. Expert faculty have been drawn from all over the country to make this programme an exceptional learning experience.

Social workers, counsellors, critical care nurses, doctors and anyone with an interest and passion for organ donation are welcome as delegates.

The registration fee includes food, accommodation and study material. At the end of the course, the delegate would be awarded with a “Certificate of Participation”. The registration details can be found in the enclosed registration form.
