MOHAN Foundation launched yet another unique program “Swamy Narayan Life Savers Program”. Mr. K.S. Raju, Chairman of Nagarjuna Group, unveiled the logo of Swamy Narayan Life Savers Program. He said that Nagarjuna Group will continue to do its bit in saving lives by supporting MOHAN Foundation’s efforts.
The Swamy Narayan Life Savers program is aimed at educating youth, housewives, social groups and corporates with the skills on handling medical, accident and environmental emergencies.
Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram, said, “In the current scenario where road accidents are so common, it becomes very important for everyone to handle them effectively so that the “golden hour” is effectively used to save precious lives”. Even among the educated population, this knowledge is unavailable, and that is exactly the reason why MOHAN Foundation is launching this unique “One Day program” named, Swamy Narayan (son of Mrs Lalitha Raghuram, Country Director of MOHAN Foundation), who tragically died in a fatal road accident in January 2004.
Mrs. Raghuram said, “Nagarjuna Foundation has donated seed money of Rs. 8 Lakhs, and Dr. Soma Raju, Chairman of Care Hospital has donated R. 1 Lakh for this program and it is our endeavour to make this program available to all by creating a large corpus fund.”
Dr. Sunil Shroff, Founder and Managing Trustee of MOHAN Foundation said, “While organ donation will continue to be our core focus and forte, the Swamy Narayan Life Savers Program will be an addition to our programs in ensuring precious lives are SAVED”.
During the last one year, we have trained over 1000 candidates, mostly youth on the life saving skills. Most of these training programs were conducted at our office on Saturdays. During the last one month, we have been having the training sessions every Saturday morning.
With experience gained during the last one year, and the positive feedback received from the candidates, we have now decided to make it big. We have approached corporate, schools and colleges for initiating these training programs in their locations itself.
