On May 14, 2015, MOHAN Foundation - Jaipur Citizens Forum (MFJCF) conducted an awareness session on organ donation at Jyoti Nursing Home, Jaipur. In Jaipur, this Vidhyadhar Nagar based nursing home is a known hospital in Ortho, ENT, Dental, General and Gynecology specialization. It is a 100 bedded and well equipped hospital which serves the general public.
Mr. Utpal Rajoria, Project Manager explained the concepts of organ donation and transplantation primarily focusing on the types of donations, how to diagnose brain death, tissue donation, the Transplant Law of India and statistics on the said subject.
A short film on brain death was shown. The session was conducted in an interactive manner where the participants chipped in with their views on recent coverage of organ donation stories in the media and also with unhesitant inquiries throughout.
Heart touching stories of few donors touched the listeners deeply. Nursing staff of Jyoti Nursing Home also filled the pledge forms and promised to work for this noble cause.
15 participants attended the session and 6 donor cards were picked up.
