Signature campaign in support of organ donation at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai

  • MOHAN Foundation counselors deputed at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai joined hands with TRANSTAN to organize a signature campaign on 25th, 26th and 27th of November 2015. This was done to get support and to motivate medical professionals, para medical staff and visitors to the hospital to pledge to donate their organs.  The Campaign was a part of the 6th Indian Organ Donation Day celebration which falls on 27th November 2015. .

     

    During the campaign the counselors explained the concept and value of organ donation in the life of an individual. The signature campaign banner and information stall was taken to all the departments and wards to get the support. The people who visited the stall were given Green Ribbon, Information brochure and Donor cards. More than 1500 persons came forward and supported the Noble Cause by signing on the banner.  On 27th November, Dr. R. Vimala, Dean of the Madras Medical College and RGGGH signed the banner and  inaugurated the celebrations.

     

    The banner was displayed at:

    • Tower II Main door
    • In Gate Entrance
    • Cardiology Block
    • Casualty  ward
    • MMC Nursing College
    • Tower I  Entrance  
    • TRANSTAN office

     

    The people of Chennai wholeheartedly supported the campaign. Many visitors to the hospitals, students, rickshaw drivers, nurses, PG students and senior  doctors signed on the banner.
