Sensitization Programme on Organ Donation conducted at ITI College, Pimplod, Amravati

  • On 22nd July 2022, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation for students of ITI College at Pimplod, Amravati.

    Dr. Rajesh Waghjhade the principal of this college was instrumental in conducting this session for students and staff.

    Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi was the speaker for the day. She introduced MOHAN Foundation and its activities and provided information about the below topics:

    1. What is organ donation?
    2. Who requires an organ transplant?
    3. Status of organ donation in India
    4. Difference between in Brain death and Circulatory death
    5. Which are the organs and tissues that can be donated after brain death?
    6. What is body donation and process of body donation?
    7. Brain Death was explained through an informative video
    8. Myths and facts surrounded by the topic was discussed in detail
    9. Donor stories was discussed with the audience to motivate them to pledge their organs.

     

     The following were the questions asked by the participants:

    1. What is the procedure involved to donate organs?
    2. What is the cost of organ transplant in government hospitals and private hospitals?

     

    Participants expressed their views and opinions about organ donation and clarified their doubts. The session motivated 106 participants to pledge their organs.

    Close to 168 participants participated in the session. We thank Dr. Rajesh Waghjhade the principal of ITI College for organizing this session and supporting the cause of organ donation.
