On May 12, 2022 Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Programme Officer, MOHAN Foundation and Mr. Takhellambam Yaiphaba Singh, Transplant Co-ordinator, MOHAN Foundation visited American Oncology Institute, Khabeisoi, Manipur to deliver a talk on “Organ Donation”.
The session was attended by Dr. Pratik, Operation Manager, American Oncology Institute, Khabeisoi, Manipur along with Mr. Lijo Paippallil Nursing Superintendent, American Oncology Institute, Khabeisoi, Manipur, the administrative staffs and nursing officers of the institute.
Ms. Laishram Monica Devi began the session by sharing Green ribbon (a badge of honor, a symbol of giving hope & sharing life through organ donation) to all the participants. She wished Happy International Nurses Day to all the nursing fraternity and encouraged them to continue doing the humanitarian services. She elaborated on “organ donation and transplantation in India”. She also briefed about the difference between living and deceased donation which was followed by clarifying the myths that abound organ donation.
Ms. Monica’s interactive session was made more meaningful by volunteers who came up to pledge for Organ Donation.
The session concluded with MOHAN Foundation felicitating Mr. Lijo Paippallil who thanked the MOHAN Foundation team for the enlightening session. He also extended his support towards promoting the cause and initiating more such activities.
The administrative staffs and the nursing officers were keen in discussing the cause of organ donation with their families and friends.
Close to 21 participants attended the session.
