The 5th Edition of the Rangoli Festival was conducted online by MOHAN Foundation to promote the cause of organ donation and the national toll-free helpline. The theme was அழியாத கோலங்கள் - the indelible Ink – to showcase the continuation of life due to a family’s decision.
The registration started from December 01, 2023 to January 20, 2024. Nearly 40 teams participated in the competition. There was an adult category and a student category. Amazing designs depicting the Gift of Life were created by the Kolam artists using traditional powders, flowers and other materials. Nearly every design incorporated the toll-free helpline number (18001037100). The students from Nursing College AIIMS Rishikesh, Adarsh High School, Nagpur, Dr. M.G.R University, MMM College of Health Sciences Chennai participated in the festival. Submissions came from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Odisha
Shortlisting of the top 8 among all the submission was done by Mrs Usha Balasubramanian and Mrs Shaila S, senior volunteers of MOHAN Foundation. The Finals were held on January 27, 2024. Eminent judges were Ms. Bhavna Jagwani (Trustee, MOHAN Foundation), Ms. Vani Anandakumaran (Kolam Artist), Mr. Murali Natrajan (Kidney Transplant Recipient) and Ms. Mamta Mot (Saree blogger & Influencer)
The final designs were judged on their relevance to the theme, creativity and presentation of the teams in a zoom meet at 4:30 PM. All participants were present at this zoom session.
Dr Hemal Kanvinde introduced the work of MOHAN Foundation and the genesis of the Rangoli Festival. Ms. Arshiya Fathima H. introduced the judges. Every shortlisted candidate was given time to explain the design followed by comments by the judges. The Judging took nearly two hours. All the judges submitted their scoring sheet and the results were announced by Dr. Hemal Kanvinde.

The judges were delighted to be a part of this unique event and gave their comments about the art presented to them.
