  • Despite public gatherings being suspended due to COVID restrictions, MFJCF continues with its efforts to create awareness by adopting many novel ways. One of the initiatives of the team was to create awareness about organ donation in the many villages of the state of Rajasthan. Owing to the travel restrictions, MFJCF chose to use radio as a medium to communicate with the rural population.

A programme on organ donation sponsored by MFJCF, was broadcast on 27th June 2021 on 101.2 AIR. All India Radio (AIR) has almost 4000-5000 live listeners on its mobile app, and via radio it covers almost 70% of the area in Rajasthan.

Along with a play on organ donation, the programme also featured Mrs Renu Uba, who answered some of the frequently asked questions regarding organ donation in the local language. Some of the topics discussed were:

    • What is organ donation
    • Who can donate organs
    • Importance of organ donation
    • The legal aspects of organ donation
    • Time factor following death for organs to be donated

Towards the end, she also motivated the listeners to talk to their families about organ donation as family consent is the most important aspect. The program was concluded with the saying, “एक ख़ामोशी अनेक मुस्कान, आओ करे अंगदान.”
