Poster Making Competition on the theme of Organ Donation at St. Mary's Convent High School, Mapusa, Goa

  • On August 24, 2023, MOHAN Foundation and IMA Goa State, in association with St. Mary’s Convent High School, Mapusa, Goa, organised a poster-making competition for STDs 5th to 7th in category 1 and 8th to 10th in category 2, to commemorate Indian Organ Donation Day.

     

    Dr. Amol Mahaldar, Coordinator of Organ Donation Cell, IMA Goa State, and Mr. Gabriel Pereira, Organ Donation Ambassador, from MOHAN Foundation, were the judges for the competition.

     

    Ms. Jasmine, teacher, SMC, introduced Dr. Amol and Mr. Gabriel to the students and requested Dr. Amol to say a few words who then spoke briefly about organ donation to the students. Sr. M. Snehala, the principal of the school, expressed her appreciation for the MOHAN Foundation and IMA for organising the competition at the school.

     

    There were 49 students who took part in category 1 and 20 in category 2.

     

    The head girl presented Dr. Amol Mahaldar with a token of appreciation, and Mr. Gabriel presented Sr. Snehala and Ms. Jasmine with a token of appreciation for emceeing and assisting with obtaining students' names.

     

    The winners (first, second and third place) were presented with trophies, medals and a certificates, while all the students received participation certificates.

     

    Mr. Gabriel gave the vote of thanks; he thanked Dr. Amol for taking time out of his hectic schedule to attend the competition and for his ongoing support of organ donation. He appreciated the school's principal, Sr. Snehala, for allowing MOHAN Foundation to hold the poster-making competition in her school. In addition to thanking Ms. Jasmine and all the participating students, he also congratulated the winners.

     

    Mr. Gabriel thanked the benefactors, Mr. Michael Lobo, the MLA for the Calangute Constituency, Mr. Anil Patre, the proprietor of Heartbeat Family Restaurant in Karaswada Mapusa, and Mr. Michael Carvalho, for capturing the memories (the pictures of the event).
