MFJCF, in partnership with Nevania Arts, organized a photography competition on the theme of Angdaan and Recycle Life to create awareness about the importance of organ donation. The campaign ran for a total of 11 days and participants were invited to share photographs that depict the essence of organ donation.
The entries were collected via Google Forms and email. A total of 40 photographs were received, out of which 28 photographs adhering to the them were chosen and posted on the Instagram page of MFJCF and were open for public voting via likes. 10 photographs with the most number of likes were selected for the final round from which the judges selected the top 3 and announced the winners on 4th July 2021.
The judges were Mrs Lalitha Raghuram – Country Director, MOHAN Foundation, Mrs Vandana Dalveer, who heads Nevania Arts and Mr Tarang Arora, a photographer. The top 3 winners received cash prizes worth Rs 10,000, Rs 6,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively. The first prize was sponsored by Nevania Arts. The other 7 entries of the top 10 received pieces of jewellery designed in the form of organ donation souvenirs. All the participants received participation certificates.
This competition effectively helped spread awareness about organ donation as well as strengthen MFJCF’s social media presence. The number of followers in Instagram increased from 72 to 163 in this short period. Similarly, the daily visit count of the page increased from 20 people per day to a peak of 2800 people. People who had never heard about the cause, commented on the photographs saying they were happy to know about and support the cause.
