  On 12th March, 2023, MOHAN Foundation in association with Hyderabad Cyclists Group conducted a Cycle Rally from Khairtabad to Necklace Road. The rally began at MOHAN Foundation Office in Khairtabad at 7am and covered several popular areas of the city like NTR Marg,Lumbini Park, Tank Bund, Necklace Road, Peoples’ Plaza and back promoting Deceased Organ Donation across the city. The cyclists were supported by MOHAN Foundation with t-shirts, information boards with attractive slogans on Organ Donation and breakfast for the participants. Around 100 cyclists chanted the slogans enthusiastically and pedalled 13 Kms in the heart of the city. Thus, sensitising several others with the lifesaving cause of organ donation.

   

  The Rally commenced with a brief description of MOHAN Foundation, and the guests of the events were welcomed by Dr. Bhanu Chandra who collected their shirts from the office.

   

  Speaking on occasion Dr. Bhanu Chandra, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation expressed concern over the growing number of patients needing organs and very few organ donors in the community. List of patients needing organs is growing but lamented very few come forward to donate. When a kidney can be donated from living donors and transplanted from one person to another. The Brain stem Dead patients, organs like heart, liver, lungs, pancreas, Kidneys can also be donated and transplanted. This would help the save life of many people, he said and called upon people to come forward for organ donation to save lives. Ms. Srividya Subramanian, Project Manager spoke about the different ways in which  social media can be a catalyst in promoting organ donation and also promoted the Toll- Free- Helpline Number among the participants.

   

  Mr. Ravinder Nandanoori, Founder of Hyderabad Cyclists Group was felicitated by Dr. Bhanu Chandra for supporting MOHAN Foundation Team and promoting organ donation. MOHAN Foundation sincerely thanks the Telangana Police for granting permissions for the cause. This will surely go a long way in promoting organ donation in the state of Telangana.
