Orientation on Organ Donation to Social work students of Matru Sewa Sangh Institute.

  • On May 1, 2024, a batch of Social work students of Matru Sewa Sangh Institute, Bajaj Nagar Nagpur, visited MOHAN Foundation newly inaugurated office. MSW course Director, Dr. Amod Gurjar requested to conduct an orientation on NGO working on Organ Donation. Mr. Bulu Behera.Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN foundation addressed the following topics.

     What is organ donation?

     What is brain death and natural death?

     After brain death, which organs and tissues can be donated?

     After natural death, which tissues can be donated, and the necessary conditions?

     What is the difference between coma and brain death?

     Is organ donation possible if the patient is in a coma? What is the criteria for living donation?

     Information regarding body donation and eye donation

     What does the Transplantation of Human Organs Act of 1994 say about organ donation?

     Role of MOHAN Foundation in organ donation?

     Importance of Donor card and helpline number.

     Information regarding MOHAN Foundation activities.

    Total 9 students visited and 6 of them signed the Organ Donation Pledge form.
