On 20th September 2016, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session for doctors and nurses of the ICF Hospital, Chennai. This was initiated by Mr. Santosh, an employee of ICF and a blood donor. About 80 doctors and staff nurses attended the session. The CMO Dr. Devendra Mitra and Sr Administrator, Dr. Renuka Sridhar also attended the session.
Ms. Susheela Chandrasekaran, Chief Matron introduced the topic and welcomed the speakers. Dr. Sumana Navin spoke on the concepts of organ donation and gave a detailed picture of brain death. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde explained the main points of the Transplantation of Human Organs Act 1994 and the processes involved in organ donation.
Dr. Sumana Navin thanked the hospital for the opportunity to speak.
