  Ms Riyaa Palan Explains the Concept of Organ donation

  Organ Donation Ambassador Ms.Riyaa Palan approached the Schindler India, Vashi for an awareness talk on Organ donation.  Around 80  employees were exposed to the concepts of organ donation on June 11, 2024. Ms. Riyaa Palan and Ms. Jaya, Project Director, MOHAN Foundation  explained  the concepts of organ donation and the following topics were addressed:  Introduction to  MOHAN Foundation, basics of Organ donation, types of donors, eye donation, circulatory death and brain stem death.

   Ms. Riyaa Palan shared her own grandfather’s story (who had donated his eyes, liver and kidney after death).  At the end of the session,  many approached the resource persons to ask some follow-up questions that they might have had - For instance, one of the employees also raised an interesting point about the window in which the organ needed to be retrieved and transplanted. 

   

  Looking back in hindsight, this was quite an enriching experience and we are truly grateful to have had the opportunity to interact with such a committed and diligent community.
