Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Session at Radcliffe School, Bamandongri Navi Mumbai.

  • On February 1, 2025, the occasion of the students' gathering during the Parent-Teacher Meeting, an Organ and Tissue Donation awareness session was organized at Radcliffe School, Bamandongri, Navi Mumbai. The session aimed to educate students and parents about the importance of organ and tissue donation.

    The sesssion began with an introduction by Ms. Prarthana from the MOHAN Foundation, who highlighted the significance of organ donation in saving lives. She shared impactful stories and case studies to emphasize the role that organ donation plays in improving the quality of life for recipients.

    During the session, Ms. Prarthana engaged the audience with important questions such as:

    • Why does corneal blindness occur?
    • What is an MLC (Medico-Legal Case) in the context of organ donation?

    These questions were aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of the medical and legal aspects surrounding organ and tissue donation. The session also covered various types of organ donations, the precautions needed for eye donation, and the legal documentation required for registering as an organ donor.

    Ms. Prarthana encouraged parents and students to consider the life-changing impact of organ donation and to spread awareness within their communities. The session was informative and well-received. Approximately 64 people attended, and 1 person pledged for eye donation.

    The event concluded with a Q&A session, where attendees could clarify their doubts, followed by a pledge drive for those interested in registering as organ donors.
