On 29th May 2014 as a run up to the of launch of India’s first Organ Protection and Organ Donation initiative, the M.V. Hospital for Diabetes, Royapuram invited MOHAN Foundation to delivered a talk on Organ Donation to its staff. 120 staff members attended the session.
Ms. Kavitha S. Marketing Coordinator and Ms. Sunitha A. T. Transplant Coordinator, represented MOHAN Foundation. Dr. Vijay Vishwanathan, Head and Director, M.V. Hospital for Diabetes welcomes the staff and stated that the hospital has started a unique project called “Target 7% initiative” where patients with diabetes are followed up through SMS and regular follow up to achieve a HBA1c of 7% . Maintaining this level (under 7%) can help prevent organ failure. He said that they are happy to join MOHAN Foundation in spreading the word of Organ Donation.

At the end of the talk motivational video was screened. An information desk was placed in the lobby for registration and issue of donor cards. Nearly 75 staff members registered as Organ Donors.
