The Indian Red Cross Society is a voluntary humanitarian organization having a network of over 1100 branches throughout the country, providing relief in times of disasters/emergencies and promotes health & care of the vulnerable people and communities. The movement has three main components, the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC), National Societies and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
To commemorate International Women’s Day, on March 08, 2023 Indian Red Cross Society, organized free multi-speciality health camp comprising of Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, Dental, General Physician, Breast Cancer & Oral Cancer screening and other general screenings at their Day Care Hospital, Egmore. On this occasion MOHAN Foundation was given an opportunity to put up on information desk to create awareness on organ donation and transplantation.
With the support of hospital staff, the team of Mr. Ganesh C, Marketing Coordinator and Ms. Prathyusha, Intern MMM College of Health Sciences put up a help desk at the very entrance of the hospital where the visibility is maximum. The desk has a standee, information brochures, green ribbons and registration forms and donor cards. Over 60 visitors to the camp stopped-by to gain knowledge on Organ Donation and Transplantation and 28 of picked up the donor card.
