On 23rd June 2012 MOHAN Foundation, Bangalore organized a talk on Organ Donation for the students of St. Martha’s College of Nursing as a part of its countrywide Organ Donation Awareness Campaign. Around 300 students and faculty members attended the program. Mr. Bino James, Project Manager of MOHAN Foundation Bangalore oriented the students on Deceased (Cadaveric) Organ Donation and Mr. Krishnan,Volunteer of MOHAN Foundation (also a kidney recipient) addressed the students. Mr. Krishnan shared with the students the trauma faced by patients waiting for a transplant due to the unavailability of organs. He also spoke about how he was leading a healthy and successful life 15 years after his kidney transplant.
The interactive session helped the students to understand the concepts of Deceased Organ Donation and clarify their doubts on the topic.
