Organ Donation Program held at Government Industrial Training Institute Nagpur

  • On 7th October 2021, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation conducted an awareness talk on Organ Donation for students of Government Industrial Training Institute (Woman) Nagpur. Mrs. Suwarna Dudhe (Director) arranged the session on the occasion of Durga Ghat Sthapana Divas.

    Mrs. Suwarna Dudhe introduced the speaker Ms Prarthana of MOHAN Foundation to the students after that Ms Prarthana Dwivedi began session by introduced MOHAN Foundation to the participants. She explained the following points in detail:

    • What is organ donation?
    • Whom to contact for organ donation?
    • THO Act 1994
    • What is natural death and brain death?
    • What is the eye donation process?
    • What is the bone donation and process?
    • Causes of brain death
    • Role of ZTCC in organ donation
    • MOHAN Foundation activities 
    • Using the MOHAN Foundation’s website and help line number

    Question asked by students:

    • What post-mortem required after organ donation?
    • Who identify Brain death patient and how?

    Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi answered all the queries promptly. Around 146 participants attended the session and 35 took pledge to become Organ Donor.
