  • Akhil Bhartiya Marwadi Mahila Sammelan, Rishikesh, invited MOHAN Foundation to set up an information desk promoting organ donation at the blood camp at SPS Government Medical Hospital, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, on June 14, 2024. The invitation had been extended by Ms. Nutan Aggrawal, Chairperson of Akhil Bhartiya Marwadi Mahila Sammelan Rishikesh and Organ Donation Ambassador of MOHAN Foundation.

    A voluntary blood donation camp and raising awareness about organ donation were included in the program.

    Mr. Sanchit Arora, Project Leader-MF, stationed at AIIMS Rishikesh, had set up an information desk where hospital staff, members of ABMMS, blood camp volunteers, and those who came for blood donation visited and raised numerous queries:

    * Who can be an organ donor?

    * What is brain death?

    * Does the MOHAN Foundation have a helpline number? If so, does it operate 24/7?

    * Has there been any cadaver donation in Rishikesh?

    * Does the hospital or another government agency allocate organs?

    * What is the time duration for organ and tissue donation?

    * How to pledge for organ donation?

    * Is it possible to fill out the form online, and what are the steps?

    * What is the role of MOHAN Foundation? Do they provide organs as well?

    * Is there any office for MOHAN Foundation in Uttarakhand?

    All queries were addressed at the desk, and frequently asked questions (FAQs) on organ donation were distributed. Later, the organising committee set up a pledge registration desk to facilitate visitors who wished to pledge for organ donation instantly.

    Close to 15 participants had visited the information desk, with up to 4 pledging to donate organs, many of whom were inspired by Ms. Nutan Aggrawal.
