On October 9, 2023, Mr. Gabriel Pereira, Organ Donation Ambassador, MOHAN Foundation, set up an Organ Donation Information Desk at a blood donation camp held at the Gazette Office, G.O. Altinho, Panjim, Goa. The camp was organised by IMA Bardez in collaboration with Goa Medical College—Blood Bank, V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, and IMA (Indian Medical Association) State Goa, supported by Shri Jaspal Singh, IPS, Director General of Police, Goa.
The camp was held from 9.30 a.m. to noon. Around 16 people came forward to donate blood, but only 12 were fit to do so.
The Guest of Honour was Shri Jaspal Singh, IPS, Director General of Police, Goa; other dignitaries were Dr. Mohan Dhumasker, President of IMA-State Goa; Dr. Sophia Rodrigues, Secretary IMA Bardez; Dr. G. Shaber Ali, Officiating Principal, V. M. Salgaocar College of Law; and Asst. Professor Ashwini Naik, Director Legal Aid Society of V. M. Salgaocar College of Law.
Mr. Gabriel Pereira, from the MOHAN Foundation, gave FAQs on organ donation to the people who visited the camp. Close to 30 people were handed the FAQs, and one person pledged to donate his organs.
