


In association with the Times of India, MOHAN Foundation organized an awareness program on Organ Donation for Students of Central Polytechnic, Taramani, Chennai on 27th February 2017.
Dr. Hemal Kanvinde conducted the session. To begin with there was a short interaction to understand the level of understanding. After this a movie explaining brain death was shown and the Concepts of Organ Donation were explained with the help of a presentation. Topics covered were types of death, brain death, organ and tissue donation under different categories, importance of safe driving and registration process for organ donation. A few cases were also discussed.
The students had the following doubts –
Is it necessary to speak to parents about the donor card?
What is the difference between brain death and coma?
A small quiz was run through at the end of the discussion to emphasize the learning. 60 students of 1st year attended the session. MOHAN Foundation thanks the Times of India for this opportunity.
