Myths and facts related to organ donation explained

Mrs. Ranjini interacting with the audience
Mrs. Preethi of Euromonitor Company, Bangalore invited MOHAN Foundation to conduct an interactive session on organ donation on 22^nd February 2021. Around 20 employees from North and South regions attended the session.

MOHAN Foundation was represented by Mrs. Hemavathi, Transplant Coordinator, Mr. Marulappa LN, Transplant Coordinator and Mrs. Ranjini Shankar M S, Project Manager.

The following topics were discussed in detail:
- MOHAN Foundation – vision, mission and activities
- Brain Stem Death
- Circulatory Death
- Jeevasarthakathe and its role
- Organ allocation system in Karnataka
- The burden of organ failure and need for organ donation
- Importance of a Donor Card
During the interaction, the audience raised the following questions:
- How do hospitals ensure the organ compatibility?
- How are organs preserved when being transported?
- Green Corridor
- Does my age/fitness level disqualify me from being a donor?
- Distribution of the organs
- Can diabetes patients be donors?
- Can COVID positive patients be donors?
