On December 30, 2023, MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for the residents of VGN Stafford, Chennai. This was organized by Organ Donation Ambassador Ms. Malina.
Ms. Arshiya Fathima (Helpline Counselor) and Ambassador Ms. Malina were the speakers for the 25 residents who joined the session.
Ms. Malina distributed brochures, and introduced the activities of MOHAN Foundation. She spoke on the concepts of organ donation and the need for organs, what and when donation can happen. She explained brain death - causes and certification process. She also spoke about how a patient can register in the government waitlist for a transplant. myths on donation were clarified and the process of registration was explained. The session ended with the short video of a recipient.
Later Ms. Arshiya handled the Q & A Session and cleared their doubts. Ms. Malina distributed Donor cards and collected details in registration form. 2 people pledged for organ donation.
