Organ Donation Awareness Talk for Students of Tirpude College & Sewa Foundation

  • On August 30, 2024, an informative awareness session on organ and tissue donation was held for students from Sewa Foundation and Tirpude College at the Social Service Department. The session was led by Ms. Bhagyashree, who provided comprehensive explanations on a range of topics related to organ donation.

    Ms. Bhagyashree covered fundamental concepts, including the definitions of organ donation and brain death, and the different types of death that impact donation eligibility. She emphasized the profound impact of organ donation, explaining how a single donor can potentially save up to eight lives.

    In addition to discussing the basic principles, she addressed various queries regarding eligibility criteria, conditions for donation, and the specifics of body and corneal donation. The session also included a thorough exploration of common myths and facts about organ donation, aiming to dispel misconceptions and provide accurate information.

    A total of 10 students attended the session, engaging actively with the content and participating in discussions. The session was designed to enhance understanding and awareness, equipping students with the knowledge to make informed decisions about organ and tissue donation.
