Organ Donation Awareness Talk for Maintenance Department Apollo Hospital, Navi Mumbai

  • On July 18, 2024, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness program on organ donation for the Engineering Department of Apollo Hospital. Mr. Shiva from the Engineering Department arranged and organized the session for the staff members of the Maintenance and Engineering Department at the Basement of Apollo Hospital at 2:30 p.m.

    Around 44 staff members from the Engineering and Maintenance Departments, along with vendors, attended the session. She provided a comprehensive overview of organ donation and transplantation, including the effective use of the organ donation helpline 1800 103 7100. The session covered various topics such as types of organ donations, how to register as an organ donor, and the concepts of brain death and circulatory death. She also emphasized the importance of a donor card and encouraged everyone to pledge their organs. The discussion on how to associate with MOHAN Foundation was particularly detailed.

    The session was both interesting and interactive. Some questions from the audience included:

    • How to register for a liver transplant?
    • Why is a post-mortem required after organ donation?

    Ms. Prathana addressed all the queries and expressed her gratitude to Mr. Tulsi, Head of the Engineering Department at Apollo Hospital, for inviting her and supporting the cause of organ donation.
