On November 29, 2024, the MOHAN Foundation had the privilege of conducting a deeply moving organ donation awareness session for the students of NCRD Sterling College, Seawoods, Navi Mumbai.
Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi led the session with compassion and dedication, explaining the profound concepts of brain death and cardiac death, and highlighting the incredible life-saving impact that organ and tissue donations can have. As she spoke about how a single act of kindness could offer someone a second chance at life, the students listened intently, their hearts and minds opened to the selfless beauty of organ donation. With 48 students actively participating, the room was filled with a sense of shared purpose and hope.
The questions raised by the students were thoughtful and heartfelt, showing their genuine concern and curiosity. Questions like, “What is the system of cornea transplantation?” and “How can I talk to my family about skin donation?” reflected their willingness to understand and spread this important message to others.
The MOHAN Foundation is profoundly grateful to Ms. Richa Jha for her unwavering support in organizing this powerful session. Her commitment, along with the eager involvement of the students, helped turn this awareness session into more than just an event—it became a call to action, a movement for change, and a chance to inspire others to make a difference.
This session was a reminder of the incredible power of awareness and compassion. Together, we can create a more informed, empathetic, and selfless society, one where the gift of life through organ donation becomes a beacon of hope for all.
