Organ Donation Awareness Session Conducted at Vikhroli Parksite Police Station, Mumbai

  • On February 13, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session for the staff of the Traffic Police Station at Vikhroli Parksite Police Station, Mumbai. The session was organized by Mr. Nagendra Yadav from the Marketing Department of Apollo Hospital and conducted by Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi.

    Ms. Prarthana explained in detail the difference between cardiac death and brain death, elaborating on the organs and tissues that can be donated in both cases. Also she explained tissue donation, including skin, eyes, and bones.

    She further discussed organ donation in cases of brain death, highlighting the number of lives that can be saved by sharing successful transplant stories, articles, and news about the Green Corridor. Additionally, she addressed common myths surrounding organ donation and provided factual information to debunk them.

    Approximately 64 traffic officers attended the session, and 07 pledged to become organ donors. Informative flyers were also distributed to the staff members of the police station.
