On October 28, 2023, 'Parwaaz-Ek Udan’ (a charity organisation) invited SOTTO, Haryana, and MOHAN Foundation for an awareness programme on organ donation at Narwana, District Jind.
Mr. Jugnuu Sanyal, Treasurer of Parwaaz, Ek Udan, was the coordinating person. The chief guest of the programme was Sh. Gian Chand Gupta, Hon’ble Speaker of Haryana Vidhan Sabha.
Sh. Ashwin Grover, organizer of the programme, introduced the team to the audience and emphasized that organ donation is a noble cause and should be pursued by all. Additionally, we should also spread awareness through the organization of such programmes to inspire individuals and dispel any misconceptions that may be prevalent in society.
An information desk was set up at the entrance of the venue with relevant materials such as information pamphlets, a standee, frequently asked questions (FAQ) flyers, and a QR code to facilitate pledging of organs. Ms. Renu Kumari of the MOHAN Foundation explained the key concepts of organ donation.
The team thanked the 'Parwaaz-Ek udan’ for their collective and collaborative efforts in raising awareness about organ donation and encouraging individuals to pledge as donors.
Close to 60 people visited the information desk, out of whom 6 pledged to donate their organs through registration on the NOTTO pledging portal.
