MOHAN Foundation-Bangalore had organized an Organ Donation Awareness Programme at the Karnataka Sanskrit University on 23rd January 2012. The University which was established in 2010 by the Karnataka Govt. administers Sanskrit Language Education in the state. It has got 300+ schools and 21 colleges with 50,000 students studying the traditional Sanskrit.
The programme was organized to educate the heads of various Sanskrit schools and colleges under the University on Organ Donation and also targeting them for further programmes on Organ Donation. Supporting the noble cause of Organ Donation, Professor Maleepura Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor, Karnataka Sanskrit University signed the Donor Card and pledged his organs during the programme.
Dr. Shrinivasa Varakhedi (Recipient of President’s Award), Registrar, Sanskrit University and an active volunteer of MOHAN Foundation was also present for the programme. He spoke about the need of supporting this noble cause.
