Organ Donation Awareness Desk at Classroom Complex VNIT College, Nagpur.

  • On January 26, 2025, VNIT College invited the MOHAN Foundation to set up an information desk to raise awareness about organ donation during a blood donation camp held at the Classroom Complex of VNIT, Nagpur. The event featured a voluntary blood donation drive organized in collaboration with GMCH and IGGMC.

    The MOHAN Foundation's information desk was managed by Ms. Veena Wathore, Project Manager, and Ms. Bhagyashree Nighot, Transplant Coordinator and Grief Counselor. The desk attracted numerous participants, including students, blood camp volunteers, and blood donors, all seeking answers to various questions about organ donation. Some of the key queries included:

    • What is the difference between coma and brain death?
    • How long after death can eyes be donated, and why?
    • Is it possible for a family to donate just the eyes?
    • Can the organ donation form be filled out online, and what are the necessary steps?

    All questions were addressed effectively, and informative brochures on organ donation were distributed to attendees. Approximately 150 individuals participated in the event.
