Hey all, I am Anant Acharya from Bengaluru. On April 28, 2024 I participated in the 5km Majja run category, which is conducted by World TCS 10k Run Bengaluru every year.
This is my second year of my participation, I pitched the idea to run for organ donation and got accepted. This year MOHAN Foundation registered as an NGO partner for the TCS Run and we all made a sincere attempt at fundraising for their Anudaan project (Transplant recipients and donor families).
Some highlights of this run, when morning at 6.30 am, I entered the gate and felt alone. The organisers gave me an opportunity to speak for the cause. I interacted with a few runners, our community members and addressed the TCS runners with a message for organ donation. I felt I was privileged to interact and meet some of the great members:
Three takeaways from my side:
1. I registered for a custom run and gave the message for Organ Donation. (About 5k plus runners).
2. My physical fitness goal was to complete a 5km run. ( Not the best one timing wise) But had fun with runners and meet some great runners.
3. Post run I met some great like minded people to create an awareness on Organ donation, we interacted with several runners, metro station passengers and spread the awareness which made my day.
