On 25th March 2021, Dr. A Keerthana, a Postgraduate student of Community Medicine at the Tagore Medical College, delivered an awareness talk on organ donation as part of her ambassador’s training programme. The audience were 20 sales personnel of Soneesh Textiles in Kandigai.
Dr. Keerthana explained what organ donation and transplantation are, and the organs and tissues that can be donated while living and after death. As the participants were completely unaware of brain death, she spent considerable time explaining the concept. She also helped clear many misconceptions the audience had about organ donation. A few participants signed up as organ donors.
