On 2nd October 2020 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Mrs. Jaya Jairam was invited by the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview by Mrs. Smeeta Jhunjhunwala to conduct an online awareness session for sensitizing the members of the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview.
The session began with the video of the play depicting the concept of Brain Death and Organ Donation performed by the members of Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview. Mrs. Smeeta Jhunjhunwala gave a brief introduction about Mrs. Jaya Jairam who is Project Manager, MOHAN Foundation, Mumbai Chapter.
After introducing MOHAN Foundation and its activities, Mrs. Jaya Jairam shared information about the concepts and process of organ donation, organs and tissues that can be donated and the need for spreading awareness about organ donation. She then went on to discuss some of the common myths that deter the public from committing to the cause of organ donation. She also shared stories of recipients enjoying a new lease of life after transplant and living their life to the fullest.
Mrs. Jaya Jairam invited the participants to join MOHAN Foundation's volunteering program. Details of Organ Donation Helpline No 1800 103 7100 & Donor Card Link was also shared. Lastly, Mrs. Garima Doshi (Vice President of the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview) gave a vote of thanks to MOHAN Foundation & Mrs. Jaya Jairam for conducting the session.
Around 22 members participated in the session. MOHAN Foundation thanks Mrs. Smeeta Jhunjhunwala (President of Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview) as well as Inner Wheel Club of Bombay Bayview for supporting the cause of organ donation.
