Dr. A B Patle of the NSS Unit of G S College extended an invitation to MOHAN Foundation to educate the NSS students of the college on organ donation and transplantation. The awareness session was organized at an old age home in Deoli on 24th January 2020.
The session began with Dr. Patle briefly talking about organ donation and introducing Mr. Bulu Behera – Transplant Coordinator from the Foundation to the audience. Around 40 students were present at the session.
Mr. Behera gave information on the following topics:
1) What is organ donation?
2) Whom to contact for organ donation?
3) What is THO Act 1994?
4) What is natural death and brain death?
5) What is the eye donation process?
6) What is the body donation process?
7) Causes of brain death
8) Role of ZTCC in organ donation
9) MOHAN Foundation’s activities, its website and help line number
Question asked by participants:
10 participants signed up as organ donors. Dr. Patle thanked the participants and MOHAN Foundation as the event came to a close.
