

On November 10, 2021, Ms. Pallavi Kumar, Executive Director, MOHAN Foundation-Delhi NCR was invited to speak at the Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) on “Organ Donation and Transplantation” organized by Medanta Hospital, Gurugram, Haryana. The national CNE was attended by the nurses from various hospitals across India.
Ms. Pallavi was requested to introduce the nurses to the various concepts of organ donation and transplantation. She spoke about the need for organ donation in India, difference between living and deceased donation, brain death and circulatory death, swap transplants, myths and misconceptions on organ donation and the law governing organ donation in India.
The 2 day CNE covered various aspects of kidney, heart, liver and lung transplantation. It also had sessions on eye and skin donation and other transplants such as pancreas, uterus and hands.
Close to 135 nurses attended the session.
