Ms. Pallavi Kumar, Executive Director of MOHAN Foundation, was invited to serve as a course faculty member for the 2nd Middle East Ata’a Al Hayat Organ Donation Course, held from October 10 to October 12, 2024, at Mohammed Bin Rashid University (MBRU) in Dubai. This course is a collaborative effort of the National Center for Organ Donation and Transplantation (HAYAT), the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), and MBRU.
On October 11, 2024, Ms. Kumar delivered a presentation titled “Making the Ask for Organ Donation.”
The following day, October 12, 2024, participants were divided into groups for various workshops, which focused on:
• Donor detection and evaluation
• Declaration of death by neurological criteria (DNC)
• Maintenance of brain-dead donors (DBD)
• Family approach to organ donation
Ms. Kumar moderated the “Family Approach” workshops, guiding participants through role-playing exercises and discussions.
