On 16 August 2016 MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness program on organ donation for the staff of Maharashtra Explosive Corporation Limited (MECL), Seminary Hill, Nagpur. Dr. Murthy of MECL took the initiative to organise the event.
Dr.Ravi Wankhede. Director of MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur center gave a comprehensive talk on the concepts of organ donation.
He spoke of the need for donation and the high incidence of end stage organ failure patients in India. He explained the difference between cardiac death and brain death, which organ can be donated after cardiac death and brain death. The explained the value of wearing a helmet, need for organs, the legal and ethical aspects of organ donation and the process of pledging organs. He asked all to use MOHAN Foundation website and helpline number.
