On the 25th February 2018, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Life Care Association, New Panvel’s President, Dr. Savita Sawai for crating awareness for their members as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations.
Mr. N P Iyer, MOHAN Foundation’s life member and Angel of Change was invited as the chief guest. Mrs Jaya Jairam and all the dignitaries were invited to light the lamp.
The audience consisted of around 120 members. Mrs. Jaya Jairam explained to them what Organ donation was, which organs and tissues could be donated and under what circumstances, why one needs to think of Organ donation and what are the myths and barriers that create a negative mindset of public towards organ donation. She lastly shared her own story of how her mother saved her life by donating one of her kidneys to her.
Lots of queries were raised and answered satisfactorily. Many of them wished to take the Pledge. The Pledge forms were distributed through Life Care Association.
