MOHAN Foundation sets up an information desk on Organ Donation at LIC Otteri, Chennai

  • Life Insurance Corporation  of India (LIC) celebrated its 62nd Anniversary Insurance Week from 1st to 5th September across all of its branches in the country. As a part of these celebrations, the LIC branch office in Otteri, Chennai, invited Mohan Foundation on the 5th September to set up an information desk to promote organ donation among employees and agents at its office.

    Ruban Victor, Program Coordinator, Ishwarya, Helpline Executive and Amal Antony Augustian, Intern from Madras Medical Mission were the resource persons from MOHAN Foundation. Mr. P.K.V Jaishankar, Assistant Manager, LIC gave a brief introduction about MOHAN Foundation, its activities and spoke a few words on organ donation. Following this Mr. Ruban talked about the importance and need for organ donation. He also explained the transplant process and busted a few myths related to organ donation. Queries on the role of religion, misuse of organs, registration formalities, etc. were answered. 

    Green ribbons and informative brochures were distributed. The information desk which was open from 2PM to 4PM answered questions and accepted registrations. Around 19 LIC employees and agents registered to pledge their organs.
