The Tamil Nadu Apex Skill Development Centre for Healthcare celebrated International Youth Day with a seminar on new careers and opportunities on August 12, 2023. The seminar was at TN MGR University, Guindy and was part of the "Skills and Employability Carnival". MOHAN Foundation was an invited participant, hosting a stall to provide information about organ donation and career enhancing courses.
Dr. Sunil Shroff, the Managing Trustee of MOHAN Foundation was invited to deliver a talk on "Youth for Organ Donation." The stall was managed by Ms. Kavitha. S, the Marketing Coordinator, and Ms. Arshiya Fathima, the Helpline Counsellor from MOHAN Foundation. It showcased informative materials such as brochures about organ donation, donor cards, details about the Transplant Coordinators Training program, and standees promoting organ donation.
Throughout the day, a wide range of topics were addressed through one-on-one interactions and group discussions, covering organ donation as well as the courses offered by MOHAN Foundation. Students from various fields, including social work, nursing, paramedical, and sociology, visited the stall, where they received supplementary information about organ donation. The significance of pursuing a career as a transplant coordinator was also elucidated, and informative brochures were distributed.
The stall was visited by approximately 50 students. MOHAN Foundation thanks Mr. Praveen Jacob, Manager, Learning and Development for highlighting the importance of the green ribbon and Dr Irfana for coordinating the information desk.
