MOHAN Foundation participated and presented at the Organ donation Congress of the International Society for Organ donation and Procurement (ISODP) held during Oct. 18-21 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, hosted by Nevada Donor Network. The Congress was attended by Dr Sunil Shroff (Managing Trustee) and Ms. Jaya Jairam (Project Director).
Such congresses have been held every other year in numeric geographic regions of the world to highlight organ donation and transplantation with the intent to share best practices and improve organ donation in that country. The mission of the International Society for Organ donation and Procurement (ISODP) is to advance donation through science, develop professionals and inspire networks supporting organ donation to improve organ transplantation worldwide.
Dr Sunil Shroff presented on 'Global Co-operation projects to enhance organ donation - Perspective from India' and 'How technology has been an enabler for organ donation and transplantation in India'.
Ms. Jaya Jairam presented on 'Empowering organ donation advocates through online grass-root level volunteer training: Organ Donation Ambassadors program' and 'Breaking barriers in transplant coordination training: A developing country's experience with online education initiative'.
A poster presentation was also made on 'Transforming Lives: enabling organ transplants for the less affordable through crowdfunding'
