  • MOHAN Foundation was invited to participate in the third trilogy camp on Blood, Eye, and Organ Donation, held at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Manipur, on April 30, 2024. The event, jointly organized by the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors, Manipur (AVBD), and the Personality and Talent Development Organization, saw the representation of Laishram Monica Devi, Programme Officer, and Ms. Thoidingjam Udayini Khuman, Transplant Coordinator from MOHAN Foundation, who set up an information and pledge counter.

Mr. Kumarjit Singh, Treasurer of AVBD, coordinated the camp, with the Manipur State Eye Bank (MSEB) also establishing an eye donation pledge counter. The camp coincided with the observance of Labour Day (May Day), and regular blood donors of JNIMS were among the participants.

Throughout the camp, the team elucidated fundamental concepts of organ and eye donation, explained the waiting list registry in India, delineated types of organ donation, simplified the notion of brain death, and underscored the importance of family consent in the donation process. The MOHAN Foundation team addressed several queries, distributing pamphlets containing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on organ donation.

Approximately 20 participants visited the pledge counter, receiving detailed information. Among them, 14 pledged to donate their eyes and organs.
