On February 28, 2020, MOHAN Foundation participated in the Fourth Collaborative Conclave 2020 organized by ORGAN India at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Ms. Pallavi Kumar (Executive Director, MF NCR) & Dr. Muneet Kaur Sahi (Programme Manager, MF NCR) attended the conclave.
Each year, ORGAN India, under the aegis of NOTTO, organizes the conference for NGOs and government stakeholders to share experiences, showcase unique initiatives, to discuss challenges and in the process learn from each other and come together to create a way forward to increase organ donations in India.
Dr. Vasanthi Ramesh, Director, NOTTO, DGHS, MoHFW, GOI was the chief guest. Also present were Dr Promila Gupta (Principal Consultant, DGHS, MoHFW), Dr. Harsha Jauhari (Technical Advisor, NOTP, DGHS, MoHFW), Dr Anil Kumar (Deputy Director General, DGHS, MoHFW) and Dr. G.L.Singal Project Coordinator, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Haryana.
Other organizations and NGOs that participated in the conclave were ROTTO Chandigarh, ZTCC Pune, Apex Kidney Foundation, Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti, A Million Pledges, Muskan Group, Lady Hardinge Medical College, MOTHER, Zubilee Foundation, Shine India Foundation, the Times of India and The Pravin Aggarwal Foundation.
The conclave began with the lighting of lamp and paying tribute to Mrs. Kirti Parasher, mother of Ms. Anika Parashar (Founder Trustee, ORGAN India, Parashar Foundation). This was followed by an introduction from all the participants and a welcome address by the chief guest.
Ms. Pallavi Kumar made a presentation on, "Driving License System - how NGOs and other states can implement the system."
Apart from presentations there were discussion rounds on organ donation in schools and colleges, NOTTO donor card registration on NOTTO website, swap transplant registry, role of media and films in organ donation awareness and innovative concepts for spreading awareness on organ donation.
The conclave ended with a vote of thanks to all the participants.
