On 6th August, 2015 organ donation day was marked by establishing a green corridor route between Command hospital and Chandigarh airport within 7 minutes. The event was started by the motivational Speech of Mr.Sudhir Dewan who not only talked about the importance of donating Organs but also shared his own story and how the organ transplant helped him to bounce back to a normal life to work for this noble cause.
Command Hospital started the organ transplant a year ago, and in that short span has done 8 cadaver donations, retrieving 15 solid organs and 8 Corneas with a consent rate of over 90%. On the organ donation day the real heroes the deceased donor families were also invited and were honoured by Dr D P Lochan (DGHS), Haryana.
It was an overwhelming event, where the donor families were feeling proud to have such martyrs in their families, who helped to save the lives even after their death.
