


On 18th January 2014 MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur centre was invited by Mrs. Shubhangi Jarande at Manobo Vikas Bahudeshiya Gramin Seva Sanstha, Dattawadi, Nagpur to give a talk on Deceased Organ Donation. The paticipants for the session were 12 Outreach Worksrs (ORW) & Project Co-ordinator of HIV/AIDS Project.
Mr. Bulu Behera gave a presentation which highlighted the organs that can be donated after Brain death, Natural death& Live Donation. He made the staff understand that after Brain death it is impossible to come back to life. Yet a Brain death can help several people who are suffering from end stage organ failure. It is possible if the relatives of brain death patient consent to donate the organs.
No one signed the pledge form because they wanted to discuss with their family members. After the talk Employees discussed the following questions.
Ø Why are people not ready for organ donation?
Ø What is the process of registration for organ failure?
Ø What are the causes of kidney stone?
Ø If a person signed the pledge form then are they bound donate organs?
Ø For how long can a liver failure person survive?
