Dr. Sumana Navin, Course Director and Ms. Pallavi Kumar, Executive Director (NCR), MOHAN Foundation were invited as faculty to a one-day workshop on Deceased Donation held on 15th December 2019 at Paras Hospitals, Gurugram.
The workshop was organized by Paras Hospitals in association with National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO), Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) and Indian Association for Transplant Coordinators (IATC) and was attended by transplant coordinators and critical care specialists.
Dr. Sumana Navin spoke on 'Transplantation of Human Organs Act on Brain Death - Intricacies' and Ms. Pallavi Kumar was a panelist for the discussion on 'Challenges in Declaration of Brain Stem Death'.
Other sessions included were on early identification of potential brain dead donors, certification, optimal management, breaking bad news, apnoea testing, etc.
