On 28th March 2015, MOHAN Foundation was invited to organize an awareness stall at Victoria Hospital as a part of event organized to improve awareness about Bone Marrow Donation and Organ Donation.
Ms. Akshata explained the purpose, necessity, importance, complex issues in deceased organ donation, concept of brain death, cultural and religious barriers, THO Act and myths related to organ donation and the importance of donor card.
There were about 200 people that visited our stall and 90 people pledged to donate and were distributed donor cards and information brochures. The Karnataka Health Minister and other MLAs were also present at the event and actively participated in the event.
We thank Dr. Devadas, Dean & Director, Bangalore Medical College for his kind support in organizing this awareness program and also thank the staff for their support to this noble cause.
