MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Shantappa to conduct an awareness session on organ donation on March 08, 2015 during the monthly meeting of members of Karnataka Slum Development Committee at Baiyappanahalli, Bangalore, Karnataka.
There were about 150 people that have participated in the event and were distributed information brochures and activity reports. There were about 100 staff members that have come forward to pledge to donate organs and were distributed donor cards.
Ms. Akshatha of MOHAN Foundation spoke about the importance of deceased organ donation, religious and cultural barriers involved with organ donation & eye donation, concept of brain death and myths surrounding organ donation.
We thank Mr. Shantappa and the members of Karnataka Slum Development Committee for giving us this unique opportunity to promote organ donation. We also thank all the participants for their active participation.
