  • The employees of CICO Technologies at New Delhi Office on August 13, 2012. About 35 people attended the session along with the Chairman and MD of the company- Ms. Anasuya Gupta.  The session covered key issues like need for organ donation, current statistics on end stage organ failure, organ donation rate, brain death and legal aspects of organ donation and myths around organ donation.  The participants were very inquisitive and wanted to know more about the modalities of going through the process of organ harvesting in case they agree to do so for their loved ones or themselves. The group was of the joint opinion that our healthcare system and its protocols have to be made more efficient in order to help people suffering from such major illnesses.

It was noteworthy to see the efforts of the MD, Ms. Gupta, who also heads the Amit Gupta Foundation, the philanthropy arm of CICO Technologies.

Amit Gupta Foundation was formed in 2009 with the aim to raise awareness for organ donation amongst the millions who run from pillar to post trying to save their loved ones.  The primary aim of the foundation is to sensitize families of donors and recipients to what the needs both medically, emotionally, socially are during and after transplant.  The foundation also aims to help people understand the need to donate organs when declared brain dead in order to save other lives.  The foundation hopes to raise awareness amongst not only families but also deal with all stake holders of an organ donation to aid the donors and recipients to have a full and quality life.

MOHAN Foundation has partnered with Amit Gupta Foundation in this endeavour. The talk at its parent company was the first step in this direction
